Tagging and Identifying Your Team:
For this article I will be using the PCETeam of which I am the captain of.
Most Important, Know Your Team Tag Name
The PCETeam team is growing by LEAPS and BOUNDS, with over 320 members! I'm so thrilled to see this. But I want to remind each of us of a VERY important part of being a team....team tags.
Team tagging allows you to be identified in a search for a particular group. For example, if you type "PCETeam" into the search bar on Etsy, right now there are over 648 results! WOW! That's fantastic!
This does NOT mean that every item you create has to have your the team tag. But it means that approximately every other or every third item should have the team tag. This helps to identify YOU as a member of the team, and show your team as a LARGE & viable team on Etsy.
There has been some questions over what our team tag is (specifically for the PCETeam);
Our team tag is simple and straight forward:
PCETeam
If you find yourself not knowing the tag for your specific team...ASK!!!
The latest edition of the Etsy Teams Newsletter gives us many tips and benefits of using team tags in our listings.
I will be honest and tell you that I am part of 5 different teams. There is only one other team that I am a part of that works as hard as we do, has as much participation as we do, and supports/promotes each other as well as we do. You should consider yourself BLESSED to be a part of a team like ours who wants to help get you noticed and bring you sales!

Etsy also offers additional benefits to those teams that use tags as a part of recognition of who they are. Tagging your team treasury with the word "etsyteam" along with your own etsy team tag (PCETeam) (or whatever your tag is) makes it easy for other team members to find treasuries made up of, and curated by participants in the Etsy Teams program. And here's a REALLY cool thing: For bonus points, use #EtsyTeamTreasury as a tag when sharing your team treasury on Twitter! Once again...more exposure for our awesome PCETeam!
Here's some more information about Teams and Team Tags, direct from Etsy.
"Team Tags are unique item tags designated by teams so that people can search Etsy directly for items made by people on a certain team. If a team chooses to use a dedicated item listing tag, it must contain the word "team." Etsy will not mediate disputes regarding use of team tags on item listings.Using your Team tag:
To be recognized officially as an Etsy Team tag, the Team tag must have the word "team" in it. It can be a separate word, or altogether as one word, but it must contain "team." "Team" can appear in the beginning, middle or end of the tag.
* Announce your team tag in your team's description, so that members know what tag to use, and non-members know what you have designated as your team's tag.
* Do NOT use a team's tag unless you are sure you are a member of the team whose tag you wish to use.
* Include the Team Tag on promotional items your team makes.
* You may post links to a search for the tag on other sites, like your team's website, your personal blog, social networking sites, etc.
* The best Team Tags are easy to remember, include the word "team", and are words or phrases that aren't currently used as tags for other items.
* Make sure that your Team Tag is a unique term, and not one that might be used to describe something other than an affiliation with your specific team.
If you have additional information to share about team tags and how they work, please feel free to do so here. To continue reading about the MISUSE of team tags, penalty, and Etsy's action against false representation, read on...
Misuse of Team tags:
If you see someone with a tag of your Etsy Team who is not a member of the team, don't jump to conclusions! Team Tag misuse is often a misunderstanding. The seller using the tag incorrectly might not realize it's a Team Tag, or be unfamiliar with the Etsy Teams program.
* Decide among your team who will be the go-to person for Team Tag interactions (a Team Tag liaison). It can be the captain, a leader or another team member. The liaison should be a calm person and a polite communicator.
* The Team Tag liaison should politely educate the seller in question about their use of the Team tag.
* Remember to assume that people mean well.
* Use the opportunity to promote your team! Do mention how great your team is in the convo and be courteous and positive.
* If possible, invite the seller to become a member of your team. Or you may ask that the person remove the tag. Keep in mind that some members of Etsy do not speak English as a primary language, or they might not be aware of the Etsy Teams program.
If there is no resolution AND you feel that the use of the tag is harmful in some way to your team, contact teams@etsy.com with the following information:
* Username(s) of the member misuing your Team tag
* Your Team name and Team tag
* Dates and times of previous contact attempts (should be at least two) with the member using the tag
Please include any additional history between you and the member in question. These matters will be handled privately and on a case-by-case basis
