It's October - Fall is Here!

Fall is my favorite season of the entire year.  I love the smell of the Earth, the crisp wind on my cheeks, the taste of fresh apple cider, and the sound of the leaves blowing effortlessly on the ground.  Ah...my favorite time of year is here.   Not only is this my favorite time of year, but it's also my favorite month.  In fact, it's so much my favorite month, that my Hubby and I were married in October!  This year, we will be celebrating our FIRST wedding anniversary.  Wow!  Time surely has gone quickly.

I had a good time yesterday spending all day in my studio making cute fall trinkets and treasures.  I came up with some REALLY cute fall items too.  So, in a shameless way, I'm promoting myself today and all the cute fall items that we have listed in our store.  You've seen our leaves, pumpkins, and acorns in the past.  But yesterday we added a new smattering of fall yummies: scarecrows, candy corn, and lots of different turkeys!

But as I sat and worked in my studio and looked out the window, I felt a shiver up my spine...another season has come to an end.  Another summer has gone...and once again, all too quickly!  But, I am reminded that all of God's creation has seasons in their lives, from the Earth, to you, and to me.  We all go through different seasons.  Some are joyous, like summer.  Some are somber, like fall.  Some are bleak, like winter.  And yet others are revitalizing, like spring.

I hope and pray that whatever "season" you are at in your life, that you take a time out to enjoy the gift of life and love that has been placed around you.  My husband and I are dealing with very difficult family situations at the moment...this season of our lives is definitely the most challenging either of us have ever encountered.  But with the grace of God, strength from the Lord Jesus, and a friend in each other, my husband and I are feeling blessed every day.

I have always believed that Fall is a time of reflection.  A time of cherishing memories, making new ones, and allowing yourself to "get lost" in the solitude of a chilly fall afternoon.  There's nothing more wonderful than the leaves brushing your legs, dog waltzing happily by your side, and your coat pulled closely around you to protect you from the chilly air.

It's time to pull out the sweaters, leather jackets, scarf, and all your fall and halloween decorations!  Fall is upon us my friends.  Enjoy this season, as it "falls" away too quickly and then is gone.  Drink some warm cider with your best friend or your beloved, throw a pumpkin party, have friends over for an afternoon tea, invite all the neighbor kids to jump in your piles of leaves.  But above all else, cherish today...for tomorrow, it will be gone!
