Christmas is coming...Give the Gift of Time

As I stood with my Mom outside last night, with hubby on the phone, we were pelted with freezing rain and SNOW after midnight.  Though I love the snow and love winter and everything about it, I feel our fall has come to a swift end.  Hubby started the outdoor wood burning furnace to keep me nice and warm today...

So that brings us to something else....if fall is almost over, that means Christmas is just around the corner!  Halloween & Thanksgiving decor is being put on sale everywhere you go and many stores already have their Christmas displays up and abounding with new and exciting additions to your seasonal decor.  I sat this morning wondering how on earth in such a difficult economy Christmas could be made affordable....

Christmas is not all about gifts.  It's about family, friends, and the love of Christ the newborn baby.  We live in a world that would love to tell us that Christmas isn't Christmas without going into debt over present and lavish dinner celebrations.  But what happened to the good old fashioned Christmases where it was more important to spend TIME with each other?  My hubby and I have agreed to give each other a full day (aside from Christmas) as one of our gifts.  Why?  Because more than anything else, the best gift you can receive in such a busy world is the gift of time.

Later next week we will share with you some of our easy decoration ideas to spruce up your Thanksgiving table and allow your friends and family a trinket to take home with them.
