A Daisy Day: Yesterday Morning

Hi everyone!  I'm Daisy.  My Mom wrote a post about me last week that her reader's really seemed to enjoy.  So today, Mom thought that it would be really nice if I typed up something for YOU, her readers.  So today, I'm going to tell you about my adventure yesterday morning.

My morning began as any other.  I was woken up by a loud and piercing sound coming from that big tall wooden thing in the corner.  My Dad proceeded to slowly get out of bed, ruffle his fur, and hit the thing that was making the noise.  (I still don't understand this procedure, but my Mom tells me that Dad is hitting an alarm clock so that he can sleep in longer).   On the way back to bed, Daddy pats me on the head.  About 10 minutes later the same sound is back.  This time, Dad gets up, stretches toward the ceiling, reaches down to pet me, and then walks to the big thing in the corner (Mom calls it a dresser) and turns off the noise-maker.

Dad then returns to the bed, pulls up the covers over Mommy, and Dad and I get dressed and head outside together.  This is my favorite part of every day.  While Dad straps on his boots to trod through the 16 inches of snow we have, I lick my paw and wait patiently.  Then, Dad says, "Ready Daisy?"  And then JUMP!  Out I go, into the cold, white, wet, and fluffy snow.  I'm so short that my belly drags through the snow behind me, so rather than run, I JUMP through the snow!  It's so much fun.  Then I do my morning "business" and head over to the wood burner to help Dad throw in some logs to keep Mommy and me warn while he's gone.

Then Daddy and I go back in the house.  We go into the kitchen, where I sit ever so pretty and wait while he gets my breakfast ready.  While I eat breakfast, Dad makes him and Mommy nice big cups of coffee.  Then Daddy and I go back into the bedroom together.  Dad pets Mommy on the head and lets her smell her coffee, while I sit right below Mommy's head and wait for Mommy's eyes to open.....and then it happens....MY MORNING PETS!  Mommy and Daddy scratch me and rub me...four hands on my body....oh that feels so good!

After all this, I know once again, it's going to be another GREAT day!

Daisy has a wonderful morning routine. She is such a lucky little dog to have wonderful parents to take care of her.

Kath - GREAT idea on the book thing. I'm looking out the window right now and my dog has her nose and half her head buried in the snow...
