I was blessed yesterday that in the midst of everything that was going on, I got to spend all day in the studio! I spent a couple hours the morning sanding and varnishing pendants. I also took some time to try out some new techniques using my polymer clay. Oh boy did they turn out BAD! I've never made anything so UGLY in my entire life. They went STRAIGHT into the garbage after their "baked" result was so awful.
In the afternoon I took a break and made something entirely new...glow in the dark ghost necklaces. They are the cutest things. Here's a few picture of the ghost holding the acorn. I made a total of 10 ghosts, 4 for my online store and 6 others to take to my craft show this weekend.
By 3pm I had 10 ghosts ready to be baked in the oven. The final piece is SO CUTE. Someone even told me, "they look like little white chocolate candies that you could just pop in your mouth!" Each and every one has a different expression, adding to their originality and uniqueness. Some of them have arms, and some do not...some look scary and some do not....but they all glow in the dark. REALLY COOL!
In the evening I took a lot of time to make exquisite and elegant donut pendants featuring the beauty of fall's leaves. Here's a picture of one of the 3 I made.
They are so unique and elegant. I was truly surprised! What I pictured in my head is EXACTLY what they turned out like! I couldn't believe it.
So all in all I learned a few good lessons.
1) Not every idea can be done.
2) Not every idea is a good idea.
3) Picture it in your head FIRST.
4) When you are frustrated, squash, chop, squish, and bend that clay....it makes you feel better.
Here's the links to some of those great new items. Have a blessed day!
