I'd just like to take a minute and give you an update on how I'm doing...
Overall, I'm doing pretty good following my surgery on Feb. 10th. It has been a VERY LONG HAUL - but, I'm hanging in there. Last Saturday was my LAST day of pain meds and I'm pretty sore yet; some days moreso than other. My body hasn't quite "healed" completely yet...but I'm working on it. One day at a time, baby steps ALWAYS win the race.
Probably the hardest thing is my stamina. Two flights of stairs at my folks house & I'm completely winded and tired. But I've been working out on Mom's elliptical to try and build up my stamina faster. I can only do 3 minutes...but it's better than nothing! My lung itself is still very weak and it hurts to cough, laugh, etc...but over all I'm doing so much better. I don't have to rely on my lung pillow for everything anymore - I just need it mostly to help eat, sleep, and go over bumps in the car (note to ODOT: the winter did terrible things to the roads, please fix them).
I went back to church this past week on Monday and Wednesday and it was nice to be back, but 3 days away from home completely ZAPPED all my energy and stamina. I've spent the last part of the week in bed because of it. Hopefully I'll be back to "full swing" by May...going to church, teaching, singing, etc.
We're still living with my Mom & Dad. I can't drive for another 2 weeks yet...It looks like we'll be moving back home after Easter...potentially, but I have so many Dr's appointments this month, we'll have to see how they go and what they say. But we're hoping for the best. So this means, I still have a LACK of getting the internet. I REALLY miss my high speed and internet connectivity...some days I feel LOST without it.

I just want to say "thank you" to some of my internet friends. It has been so nice to hear from each of you through your ecards, emails, etc! I am so blessed to have each one of you praying for me and lifting me up to the Lord. Without your prayers, I would not be healing this quickly. THANK YOU for your love, cards, prayers, emails, etc.

Glad to hear you are taking baby steps to getting better! Any surgery takes awhile but yours was really major... blessings and continued prayers for you!

Thanks Trina, Amy, & Linda. I appreciate that you're keeping up with me. The journey isn't over yet...but we celebrate ALL the baby steps, which makes me stronger & better EVERY day!!!!
I think of you often Katie, you have been through so much, and I am happy to find that you are doing so much better. Three min. on that machine is wonderful. Keep up the great work on it.
