For many people Easter revolves around a good meal, bunnies, and chocolate. For me, my husband, and for my family, Easter is about something more. Yesterday I shared with you "Was It a Morning Like This" by Sandi Patty. I sang this song in church this year for our services. This song means a lot to me, because it allows me to think about what the day, the Earth, the sky, may have looked like over 2,000 years ago.
When Jesus entered into Jerusalem, the Pharisees rebuked Jesus and asked Him to quiet His disciples. To which Jesus answered, "If all of them were silenced, even the rocks would cry out." Jesus was aware, that even at the time, all of mankind, all of the Earth, was Created for a singular purpose...to worship God.
Yesterday I spent my entire morning at our church. We had a SONRise service at 7am, which was followed by a full church pancake & sausage breakfast, which was followed by an 10:15am service, with 6 baptisms and the celebration of communion. It was a joyous morning and celebration or worship.
But perhaps the best part was visiting with all my cousins (whom some I haven't seen in years) and saying "hello" to my soldier cousins back from Afghanistan. The day was finished off with a lively celebration of ham and supper at my parents house. We spent lots of time with our families, and fun was had by all!
Today I would like to say that the only reason that Easter means so much to me, is because an innocent man was sent to His death to pay for mine! Thank you Jesus for Redeeming me from my sins. AMEN!
