Build Your Brand

As we told you last week, we are writing a new series for the PCETeam Blog on "Building Your Brand."  The post that follows has been adapted to this blog with much more information added, but the idea and posts originally came from the PCETeam blog.  If you missed last weeks blog post, click here to read it now.

Today we are going to talk about Facebook.  Many people are split in how they feel about Facebook.  Some people love it, other people hate it.  This being said, one of the things that we should all have is a facebook fan page...that's right a facebook fan page.

Why should you have this?  This gives your store and your "Brand" a place to interact with customers.  It allows you to be different from those other companies...it allows you to be YOU!  It gives you a voice, personality, and reminds your fans and buyers that you are a REAL person, not just some company.  But we know the one thing that you all hate: SPAM.

So here's some helps, ins & outs for you...
1) You personal page is just that...your personal page.  This is for your family and close friends.  Do you allow your Etsy friends and teammates access to this page?  Perhaps, that choice is yours and yours alone.  But the point in your personal page is to keep it personal.
2) Your fan page is all about your BRAND and your small business.  Make it that and keep it that way.
3) Remember, we ALL hate spam.  This is just a quick list, but here's some things you don't want to do...be all about you.  Advertise for someone else.  Branch out.  Show other artists work on your page.  Ask a question.  Shout out encouragements.  But don't JUST post your new listings and relists.  That's boring and you will NOT attract new customers.
4) Keep your content fresh.  Same old, same old, is boring.  Give your page some personality and some sparkle.

Come "like" us on Facebook and leave us the link to your Facebook page and we will "like" you back.

We hope you will join us next time for our tips on how to "Build Your Brand."
