Pasta Machine Replacement

Photo from Dick Blick Art Supplies

About 1 month ago my polymer clay machine (by Amaco) bit the big one....and by the "big one" I mean it stopped being able to crank and it would get stuck and the clay would tear, every time.  I had no idea what was wrong...and I was right in the middle of a really big project, I had to get that clay machine replaced, pronto.  So I ran into town (which is a 30 minute drive) to pick up a new one at the local Pat Catan's.  The only thing that they had was a Darice brand pasta machine.  The price tag, $16.95.  I couldn't believe it, a pasta machine in an emergency and it was less than $20 - WOW!  This was fantastic, I paid $40 for my last machine.  So excitedly I took my pasta machine home, took it out of the box and went back to work on my project...

I must admit that at first I thought, that the pasta machine wasn't too bad.  It seemed "glitchy," at first...it would "get stuck" in the middle of a turn and then continue.  This continued time after time and only got worse with every day that passed.  Finally, two days ago, in disgust I went to my husband's workbench where my old machine sat catching dust, and took the "new" Darice brand machine and tossed it in the garbage and set back up my old AMACO machine.  Much to my pleasant surprise, my darling hubby had fixed and cleaned it and it was back to new!  It's so nice to have a pasta machine that actually works.  Ah.....now back into the studio I go.  I'm in Pasta Machine Heaven!
