One of our new ventures for 2012 are our newly released Art Pendants. For many years we have done Mokume Gane. It's complexity and ability to morph into something extraordinary have intrigued us for years. We have made many things from our Mokume Gane stacks, including buttons, pens, magnets, decorative crochet hooks and even knitting needles.

Our new Art Pendants are made in the Julie Picarello style, using muted tones and lots of metallic colors. Each of our Art Pendants have been sanded with 600, 800, 1000, 1200, and 2000 grit sandpaper. The piece is finished with a buffing polish from a muslin buffing wheel. The pieces are not sealed but obtain their high shine from the sanding process. The pendants are free form in nature. This means every pendant will have a different shape, depending on how the clay "speaks" to me. None of the pendants come with a chain or cord, but can be purchased separately in our store.

Love the colors in the Desert item. Of course, those are my colors in general. I have to force myself (well, strongly encourage myself) to use other colors. Pink is my biggest problem. LOL
