Remembering 9/11

Ten years ago today, our country experienced the hatred of humanity on our own soil. For 24 hours we became 1 people. Race, religion, creed...there was nothing that separated us that day...we were all Americans, united by a common goal, common heartache, and a common plea.

Today, we are still Americans...yet ten years ago the barriers that disappeared are again in our midst. We may stand United, but we divide ourselves over religion, politics, gender, and race.

Today, in honor of the hundreds of Americans who lost their lives and all those rescue workers who gave of their time, energy, and efforts I pray you will join me in a silent prayer.

ALMIGHTY GOD, LORD JESUS CHRIST, you know the plans you have for us, this country, and the world. We pray that you might continue to guide us and to instruct us in Your will. May the walls that divide us be broken down, so that we may better love each other. Be with those families who today mourn the loss of their loved ones whom they lost to tragedy ten years ago. AMEN.
